Simple Ways To Stay Fit Without Fancy Exercise Equipment

At Home ExercisesAs nice at it would be to have an endless supply of time and money to spend at the gym, the reality is that most people don’t. Because we all know how important exercise is, most of us are looking for cheaper and simpler ways to stay fit without even leaving our homes!

At-Home Exercises

Working out at home means that you can blast your music as loud as you’d like and workout in whatever attire is the most comfortable for you! Below are a few easy ways to stay fit at healthy without going to the gym:

  • Walking – Even if it’s a cold or dreary day outside, you can still take a ‘walk’ in your home. Go up and down your stairs a few times, or walk through the rooms (this is a great excuse to clean up while getting exercise at the same time!) It’s not a very exciting tip, but it’s effective.
  • Pushups – We know that pushups are probably not on your list of fun things to do, but don’t feel like you need to do them the traditional way. You can do them on your knees, or against the wall. Any way you choose to do it, you’ll be working out your arms!
  • Jumping Jacks – Turn on your favorite song and jump along with the beat! These are great for warm-up routines or just to get in some quick cardio. Plus, they’re a lot more fun than a lot of other exercises!
  • Crunches – Crunches are the best exercise for your stomach muscles. Even if you can’t do a real crunch to begin with, just try going a little higher each time. As long as you’re feeling the burn in your muscles, it’s working.
  • Leg Lifts – Again, if you find that leg lifts are a little too difficult, feel free to modify them. You can bend your legs or go a little lower in order to avoid pulling a muscle.
  • Squats – Squats are great for toning your legs and rear. If you find them to be a little too difficult, just sit down on a chair and stand back up a few times. Even these small squats will provide benefits.
  • Jogging In Place – Jogging in place is great cardio and helps keep you heart healthy. You can watch TV or listen to music while jogging at home. Just make sure you wear a good pair of shoes to decrease stress to the leg muscles.
  • Dancing – Lastly, we recommend cranking the music and dancing along. Not only is this a great exercise, but it’s been proven to boost your mood as well, so dance away!

If you don’t have the time or money to go to the gym regularly, don’t let this keep you from exercising. A combination of the above exercises can help you stay healthy and fit for no cost at all!
